You can imagine the craze Ariana Grande's loose hairstyle caused among the media, her fans and even those who were not aware of her existence. But, what drove this little miss to put an end to her trademark ponytail?

Ariana Grande has repeatedly mentioned on interviews the reason of her now famous retro hairstyle is mostly to cover up the damage to her real hair. The Nickelodeon actress actually posted on her Facebook account a long explanation on how she used to bleach and dyed her naturally black hair almost daily for her character’s red do, due to this she has been forced to rely on hair extensions for a few years now. It appears as if her once broken hair is finally recovering, since she has been constantly uploading pictures of her latest loose hairstyles on her Instagram account.
