The Mexican singer and actor Christopher Von Uckermann was nominated as Emerging Solo Artist of the Year at Premios Lo Nuestro for his album “Somos.” In addition to being nominated for this award, Christopher will be hosting the popular awards ceremony. The event will take place on February 16 and broadcast by Univision.

Other nominees in the same category include Dulce Maria with “Extranjera Primera Parte” (Universal Music) and Natalia Jimenez’s self-titled album (Sony Music).

Christopher’s new album, “Somos,” was released on Monday, February 13 as a deluxe edition in all digital formats. This special edition includes five new songs in English and Spanish such as “Right Now,” “Supernova,” “Imaginación,” “Beautiful Life,”  “Luna Negra,” and all previous original tracks from the 2010 album.

The artist, author of the popular song “Vivir Soñando,” is currently on tour for the release of the KDABRA television series, which had great success and broke ratings records in Latin America. KDABRA will launch in the U.S. this Sunday, February 19 through Galavision, a network owned by Univision. Christopher plays the role of “Luca,” a handsome young man who loves magic. The show combines supernatural and real life elements to create a world of fantasy. So get ready for the unexpected in the new T.V. series, in which the lead actor also sings the series’ official song.
