Mitzy Beverly Hills offers a home to Quinceañeras

On Tuesday, January 29, Mexican designer Mitzy arrived to Beverly Hills to the sounds of mariachi music.

Mexican regional singer Graciela Beltran served as godmother of the boutique’s official ribbon cutting ceremony, to which radio personality Carlos Alvarez served as event host. The designer was also joined by singer Beatriz Adriana and was welcomed to the prominent L.A. neighborhood by Council member José Huizar.

Although Mitzy’s career spans over 40 years and includes designing bridal gowns, evening wear and Quinceañera dresses, this year the designer plans to focus more on his young following. “I’m making their dresses more over the top this year,” he said. “I’m including long trains, more embellishments and details that will make young girls feel like true royalty.”

During the grand opening to the public, which took place on the weekend of February 2nd, attendees were able to preview some of those anticipated designs through a private fashion show in which Quinceanera.com’s 2013 Image, Alexis Hernandez, was invited to model. “I’m very honored to be part of this great event because not only is it a great opportunity for my modeling career, but also because I get to be part of this great designer’s important achievement in his career,” said Alexis.

With price points that range from $4,000 up to $6,500, Mitzy’s Quinceañera dresses are some of the most popular luxury brand gowns on the market. His 2013 collection will include renaissance-inspired gowns, as well as colorful dresses that follow the designer’s signature waist-enhancing corsets. “I absolutely love the Mitzy dress that I’m wearing today and completely understand why many Quinceañeras want to be dressed by him.”

But this year, there will be more to expect from Mitzy than admirable Quince dresses. The designer also hopes to make his Beverly Hills boutique a permanent home for Quinceañeras. As the boutique’s Director of Operations, Liliana Miranda, explains, the boutique will also host VIP experiences for his young clientele. “We want young Latinas to visit Mitzy Beverly Hills feeling like they have their very own place in Beverly Hills,” she said. “We’ll have a lounge where girls can have lunch or tea, try on dresses and then walk around Rodeo Drive and feel like queens.”

Mitzy Beverly Hills is now open to the pubic and is located at 9407 S Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90212.
