 Is planning your Quinceañera bringing out your inner “diva”, as you demand that everything turn out as perfectly as you envision it? Wanting everything to run smoothly on the day of your Quinceañera is normal. However, all the stress that comes with planning such an elaborate event can sometimes turn even the sweetest Quinceañera into a Quince Diva. If you’ve noticed lately that friends and family are starting to run in the opposite direction as soon as they see you coming, it’s time to take this quiz and find out if you’re in need of a personality makeover.
1. You want your Quinceañera dress to be:
a. Designed by Donatella Versace especially for you…. Okay, a Vera Wang style will also do.
b. Picked out from a selection of lovely dresses donated by your older sisters/cousins. You don’t want the dent in your parents’ wallet to be too steep!
c. Chosen by you, only after you’ve visited at least 3 stylish fashion boutiques. 2. The menu for your Quince was chosen according to:
a. Your unique taste…. So what if few people will enjoy the extra spicy ingredients you can’t live without? This is YOUR once-in-a-lifetime celebration, not theirs!
b. Your parents’ budget.
c. Your idea of what most of your guests will enjoy. You want everyone to come away with good memories from your special day, and the menu should be no exception. 3. When planning your Quinceañera, other people’s opinions:
a. Are a waste of time.
b. Usually turn out to be the choices I go with.
c. Can help me explore new ideas and make tough choices, but ultimately the choice is mine and my parents’. 4. You find out that one of your damas doesn’t like her dress, so you:
a. Kick her off your court.
b. Apologize profusely, and let her choose whatever dress/color she wishes.

 If you chose mostly a’s: Quince Diva From Hell. Your bad attitude makes even so-called “bridezillas” look tame by comparison. Quinceañera-planning stress can bring out the worst in just about anybody, but you should be aware that if you don’t learn to manage that stress, you can alienate those around you. Quince planning should be an activity you share with your loved ones, so be open to new ideas and take others’ viewpoints into consideration.  If you chose mostly b’s: Pushover Princess. You are so concerned with pleasing those around you that you may be surprised to learn that a Quinceañera is a once-in-a-lifetime event that celebrates YOU!! While it’s okay to be considerate of others, you have to also make sure that you know what you want, and that your own ideas are carried over into the planning of your celebration. If you don’t learn to speak up, you may be in for a major disappointment at your Quince, where you’ll be the guest of honor at a celebration that doesn’t take any of your tastes and interests into account.
 If you chose mostly c’s: Cool as a Cucumber Quinceañera. You know that the Quinceañera celebration is all about you, but you also take others’ feelings and tastes into consideration. As you make the transition to womanhood, you are already displaying a lot of maturity by being open to the ideas and suggestions of those around you because you understand that their input can open your eyes to things you never imagined.
