Introducing Julia Vonn – Becoming a Quince model

Julia Vonn is an American model from Raleigh, North Carolina, and is proud of her Honduran/ Mexican culture.

Beginning her modeling career at the age of 14, Julia Vonn soon began modeling all over the east coast. She is a multi-published model and has ventured into Fashion Runway Shows. Vonn is a dedicated full-time student and hopes to continue being a mental health advocate who focuses on spreading awareness, positivity, and self-love.

How did you get your start in modeling?

“I started modeling Quince dresses and it helped me meet Photographers and makeup artists. Shortly afterward, I began booking gigs and growing into who I am today!”

Did you always want to be a model?

“I didn’t expect to be able to connect with people from all over the world and be a positive role model for others.

What’s the best part about being an XV model? What about the worst?

“The best part is being blessed to meet and work with such wonderful people on my journey.” The worst has to be when the dresses are extremely heavy or when the crinolines are tied very tight. This can be painful at the end of a long shoot.”

What was your first modeling gig?

“I’m so grateful for my first modeling gig with a renowned Mexican photographer who personally requested me to model for him in Atlanta. I couldn’t believe that he knew who I was. He greeted me, praised my work, and said I was his top model. This meant a lot coming from a photographer that travels around the world meeting hundreds of models."

Do you have a model inspo?

“I’ve always looked up to Winnie Harlow. She was diagnosed with vitiligo at the age of 4, I was diagnosed at the age of 7. Seeing her in all her beauty, gave me strength and understanding that even though we are different, we are perfect as we are.”

What advice would you give another girl who wants to follow in your footsteps?

“Keep your head up and use the criticism to make yourself better, You can and will succeed! I will clap and cheer for you every step of the way! You got this sis!”

You were recently on the cover of Quinceanera.com. What did it feel like seeing yourself on the cover?

“Wow…I had no words when I first saw it. I sat there staring and thanking God for this blessing. For my team, for all the people who have loved and supported me, for allowing me to continue doing what I love, and for Quinceañera.com giving me this honor. Something you have to know is even though I work so hard and so does my team, we have all faced obstacles and moments where we want to give up, and seeing our work on the front cover was one of the best feelings ever because it just felt like in that moment “it has all been worth it”. The hard work, the sweat, the tears, the long hours, everything…”
