The most Hispanic movie on the saga

The new “Pirates of the Caribbean” incorporates the Spanish colonization on their script in such a fantastical way. This fourth part of the series contains major historic events connected to the Hispanic culture; most of the cast were native Spanish actors like Penelope Cruz interpreting a pirate named Angelica who may be famous Barbanegra’s daughter.

The story revolves around the legendary fountain of youth, a myth that most Spanish explorers were obsessed with when they first came to America in the 16th century.
The hype was particularly in Florida, where it was said a natural water fountain which brought back youth to those who drank from it existed.

Native Americans discovered this obsession could remove these men who came searching for treasures and wonders from their lands, so they fed their hope hoping the conquerors would leave. According to historians, Bimini’s island myth was born likewise. Conquering this piece of land was the purpose of the 1513 Florida expedition by Juan Ponce de Leon, first governor of Puerto Rico.

If you are all about pirate stories, this is the perfect moment to plan a party that you and your loved ones will treasure.
