Calling all California girls (and even those in other zip codes)…it’s time to drizzle your Quince party with some sweet inspiration from Miss Katy Perry. Her ‘California Gurls’ music video has vibrant ideas for you to sink your teeth into to make your Quince the talk on all your friend’s liglossed lips!
Here are some decorative ideas for a Candyland Quinceañera based off of Katy’s music video for ‘California Gurls’:
1) Cotton Candy Trees
Enchant your guests as soon as they walk through the doors of your venue with these soft pink trees. Spray paint bark like dogwood with white paint, then attach chunks of painted pink cotton to the top of the wood bark. Glue the base of the trees to a board and – bam! You’ve got yourself some stunning entrance decorations.
2) Candy Necklaces
Entertain your Quince guests while they wait for your waltz to start by making candy necklaces. Provide bowls of treats like candy buttons and gummy rounds, along with some fishing wire, and let their creative juices do all the work.
3) Life-Size Lollipops
Make lollipops the backdrop of your Quince court’s table of honor by placing these juicy treats in front of a sheer backdrop that matches your main Quinceañera theme color. Attach painted Styrofoam discs to a white pole, and then wrap clear cellophane around the Styrofoam. Now you’ve got yourself a homemade sugary background!
4) Gingerbread Photo Booth
Elaborate that old photobooth with a delectable creation. Decorate it just like the gingerbread house in Perry’s music video complete with a gumdrop roof, and a little gingerbread man to hug during those photo #selfies.
5) Ice Cream Cone Bar
Satisfy your guests’ sweet cravings with an ice cream bar. Stack cones, sundae toppings, ice cream scoops, and tubs of ice cream to create a do-it-yourself scoop corner.
