“Standing Cheetah” by artist Gwynn Murrill is the BMoA sculpture garden’s newest addition. Cast in bronze and nearly life size, the work is on long-time loan from Steve and Lyn Winter. Steve Winter recently retired to the Kern River Canyon after a career in automobile design that took him all over the world. Beginning his career at Porsche in the 1970s and designing concept cars until recent years, the collector takes special interest in Murrill’s keen eye for elegant lines and the hint of explosive muscularity “Standing Cheetah” exudes 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, makes a cheetah faster than a Ferrari Enzo, a McLaren F1 and a Lamborghini Gallardo; what car lover wouldn’t be impressed by that? #beinbakersfield #theBMoA #gwynnmurrill #catsofinstagram

The Station is an event venue in Bakersfield operated by the Kern County Fire Fighters. The setting is warm and modern with its rustic vibe and exposed brick wall, with a waterfall in the front and a little patio to greet guests if they would like to venture outside.
