Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Blueberries are rich in antioxidants, perfect fruit to top off your Greek yogurt parfait!

Prep Time- Under 5 Minutes

Ingredients

-Greek Yogurt

-Granola

– Fruit

This is easy to make, you can even put the yogurt in a to-go glass or cup the night before and top with granola in the morning. Go for Greek yogurt because it’s higher in protein and will stick with you longer and provide you the fuel you need all morning long. Top with granola and your favorite fruit. If you’re not driving you can even eat it on the way to school.

Toast with peanut butter and bananas

Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Prep Time- -Under 5 Minutes

Ingredients

-Whole-wheat toast

– Peanut Butter

– 1 banana

Whole wheat bread tends to be packed with more nutrients, so be sure to use whole wheat. All you do is toast your bread and spread on the peanut butter. Try to use peanut butter that doesn’t include lots of extra sugars. Slice up the banana and arrange on top of the toast. Make a couple of slices and if you’re on a time crunch you can skip toasting the bread and simply make a peanut butter and banana sandwich.

Oatmeal

Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Prep Time- Under 5 Minutes

Ingredients

-Plain Instant Oatmeal

-Your favorite dried fruit

-Your favorite nuts

Stick with plain oatmeal so you don’t get all the added sugars. You can even make the oatmeal the night before and simply re-heat the next morning. For flavor add honey, dried fruit and nuts. This can easily be carried in a to-go container or jar if you need to eat and run.

Try one or all three this week. Breakfast is a great way to start the day because:

  • It gives you energy to get through your morning.
  • Jump starts your metabolism.
  • Helps reduce cravings for junk food throughout the day.
