With all the skincare fads out there it’s hard to separate the good from the bad, the hypes from the ones that are just hard to get your head around. Sometimes you just need to go back to basics and I’ve compiled a few of my ‘go to’ tips!
Here are my top tips for radiant looking skin:
1) Make sure you have removed all your makeup.
This is probably the most important tip. Yes, moisturizer can help to make your skin look more radiant but makeup remover is the most important product in my skincare drawer. There isn’t anything worse than sleeping with your makeup on (although I’m sure we all admit of doing this sometimes). There are plenty of different products that you can use to take off your makeup and there are lots that don’t break the bank! Do not use soap and water though, this can dry out the skin – there a plenty of good makeup removers out there so there’s no need to fear!
2) Drink water.
It’s such a small thing to do but drinking the right amount of water can really affect the radiance of your skin. Also drinking enough water can have a positive impact not just on your skin but on your whole body. It’s a winner all around!
3) Control your stress.
We all get stressed and that’s nothing to feel bad about. However studies have shown that when you’re more stressed you’re more likely to get spots etc. Taking a night a week to just have a good pamper session can really boost your mood and in turn you’re less stressed! It’s a winner for me and I do feel like my stress is minimized when I just take a bit of time out for myself.
Sleeping for at least 7 hours a night can really have a positive affect on your skin, when you’re sleep deprived you’re more likely to be stressed and like the last tip said it’s best to control your stress – if you can get a full night sleep then do!
5) Make sure you’re using the right products for your skin.
Before you get a skincare routine, the first thing you need to do is establish what type of skin you have. Is it dry, dull, oily, sensitive? Once you know your skin and the problems you want to target then you are more likely to buy products that will benefit your skin. There are plenty of websites/skincare experts that can help you figure out your skin type without being confusing so don’t be scared!
