Spring is coming. And as seasons change, the weather changes along with our bodies and our body’s needs. This is most visible on our skin, so proper skincare is vital.

Here are some ways to prep your skin for spring.

Wear sunscreen

It’s a common misconception that sunscreen is only necessary in the summer. Wearing sunscreen all year round is essential. Start using SPF 15 in the spring and then slowly work your way to higher SPF once the Sun shines brighter in the warmer months. By using sunscreen, you lower the risk of developing skin cancer. In addition, sunscreen helps you have healthier, smoother and more youthful looking skin.

Switch up your makeup

Let’s face it, nobody wants to see melting make up on their face, so put aside that heavy winter make up, and switch to something lighter. Keep your makeup routine light and simple. You do not need to go barefaced, but keep those pores unclogged and help your skin to breathe. Keep your make up and your face fresh and light.

Facials are a must

Treat yourself to a facial this spring, because there’s no better time for it. There are so many different facial treatments nowadays. Why not try the amazing Bondi Beach Facials? See what works best for your skin and asses your skin’s needs.  Whether it’s a regenerating or a rejuvenating treatment or you simply want a good detox, deep cleansing or exfoliation, you’ll end up with a healthier, radiant complexion.

Pump up on vitamins and fluids

It is only natural that as the weather becomes warmer, our body needs more water; the same goes for your skin too. Drinking plenty of fluids will help break down the fat and reduce skin breakouts. Don’t skip all those fresh fruits and vegetables. They are rich in antioxidants such as beta-carotene and vitamins C, E, and A which help keep the skin cells healthy and reduce signs of aging.

Don’t forget about your hair

Much like your skin, your hair will feel dry after the cold winter months, so it’s really important to give your hair a little bit of a boost in the spring. First, chop those split ends. Much like you face, your hair needs some extra loving. Treat your hair to a good hair mask. There are so many options to try out. Try a clay-based one to get a healthy, grease-free look or a botanical-based one for added moisture and shine. Let your hair down, away from those warm, static-inducing hats and leave those kink-causing hair bands at home.

Healthy diet is always good for you

If you’re healthy on the inside, it will show on the outside. Avoid junk food because all the nasty ingredients will wreak havoc on your face by causing breakouts. Cut down on sugar and think about all the nutrients that you should include in your diet. Your whole body, not just your skin will be thankful.

Cleanse your face everyday

This is one of the most important steps in your skin care routine. No matter how tired you are in the evening, ridding your face of all the makeup and dirt is a must. You can use a foam, gel or cream-based cleanser. After a thorough cleanse, apply toner and moisturizer. A proper skincare routine twice a day gives the best results.

So there you go. Follow these simple steps and show your skin some love.
