5 Steps to Transition Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring

Jackie Mejia

Now that the days are getting a little bit longer and the winter chill is not as nippy as before, it can be hard to decide whether to pull out that chunky scarf, or stick to a long-sleeved v-neck top for warmth.

A simple solution to this dilemma can be to pair up five winter essentials with light and airy pieces to complete your first looks for spring.

With spring only weeks away, it’s time to update your wardrobe and get ready for the upcoming season!

1) Be a trailblazer

One outerwear trend seen on the runways and the streets is the blazer. Update this versatile piece by pairing it with a bright shift dress for night or a sundress for day. If it is still too cold to wear a dress comfortably, add black tights underneath your dress to double up on another seasonal trend โ€“ color blocking – all while keeping yourself warm.

2) Get Knit-Picky

Juxtapose those chunky knits with a sleek sequin ensemble. Gather a miniskirt and add depth with a snuggly sweater on top.

3) Cargo Pants

Remember when cargo pants were a thing… well now they’re back! Create a retro look with track pants and a cute crop top!

4) Dainty Necklaces

Dainty necklaces are a ongoing accessory throughout the past year and it is not stopping in 2019. Update your winter standby timepiece by punching it up with colorful friendship bracelets stacked up your arm, or if your wristwatch has chain loops, braid ribbon or thin thread throughout the loops to add a funky pop of color.

5) Boots are Back

Although one go-to winter outfit is boots with jeans tucked in, this cold-weather staple can be updated into spring by adding a few transitional elements. Pair your favorite boots with knee-high socks, an airy dress and a flowing knit sweater to channel a Lolita-inspired look.

Get creative when it comes to updating your winter favorites, and you will be on point for the spring season.
