Movies to Look Forward To

The birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and the skies are blue. The spring time seems to bring out the best in people. There is nothing more perfect than a fresh new spring star and new opportunities. We also get to look forward to winter coming to an end and our long-awaited school’s spring break! This break is the perfect time to recharge our batteries and catch the latest blockbuster movies. Here is a list of anticipated movies set to release in 2021. The movies listed below are a mix of Sci-Fi/Adventure, Action, and a Broadway Musical.

Chaos Walking

Chaos Walking is a sci-fi adventure based on the best-selling novel The Knife of Never Letting Go. Some of the cast includes Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, and Nick Jonas. Lionsgate official’s Youtube trailer states, “In the not too distant future… a mysterious girl who crash lands on his planet, where all the women have disappeared and the men are afflicted by “the Noise” – a force that puts all their thoughts on display. In this dangerous landscape, Viola’s life is threatened – and as Todd vows to protect her, he will have to discover his own inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets.”

Black Widow

Calling All Avengers Fans! This Is Not a Drill!

Scarlett Johansson returns as Black Widow for her own Marvel Studios movie. This is a great girl-power action movie to watch with friends.  Google states, “At birth, the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.” This movie is set to hit theaters on May 7, 2021.

In The Heights

Calling All Theatre Kids Everywhere!

Warner Bros Pictures has brought Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway hit musical to the big screen. In The Heights is a heartwarming musical based in the Dominican Republic. This musical will have you singing along to the award-winning musical score. Please be advised that the songs will be stuck in your head for a while. You do not want to miss this! Coming summer 2021. Google exclaims, “A feature version of the Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical, in which a bodega owner has mixed feelings about closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune.”
