Come June 18th, Harry Potter fans will be able to touch, taste and experience the world of Hogwarts at the new “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” theme park. As Universal Orlando Resort in Florida’s new addition, “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” is said to attract worldwide tourists due to the worldwide success of the Harry Potter book and movie series. So, if you’re not too keen on having a full-blown Quince party, if you’ve chosen to have a mini vacation instead or were fortunate enough to have both options, you can be one of the first quinceañeras to celebrate their birthday by taking a trip to Hogwarts castle and walking the streets of Hogsmeade.
The mini-park consists of roller coaster adventures including the Dragon Challenge, Flight of the Hippogriff and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, along with specialty shops and attractions that will make visitors feel like they too are part of the story.
For an even more interactive and memorable Quince experience, you and your court can visit the Ollivander’s shop, where you will have the opportunity to be “chosen” by a wand just like Harry was chosen by his wand in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”. You can also purchase the wand that “chooses” you or choose from the collection at the shop for a take-home gift.
You can also do more shopping at any of the specialty shops including the Dervish and Bangles, Glich’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods, HoneyDukes, Owl Post and Zonko’s, all of which are replicas of scenes from the book and movie. You can stop to have a feast at the rustic tavern, Three Broomsticks, which although is the only restaurant in the mini-park, can make up for it with its list of hearty meals like fish and chips, turkey legs, macaroni and cheese and specialty pies.
Perhaps the most fitting part of your adventure may be your visit to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Dumbledore’s Office, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Room of Requirement and other important locations of the school can be visited by you and your guests! “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” is scheduled to open to the public on June 18th, making it a perfect gift for a graduating student or for summer Quinceañeras.
