Esmeralda Ramos, 2014 Bakersfield Cover Girl
Our Bakersfield Cover Girl is musically talented. This gorgeous young lady has been taking violin and singing lessons for over five years. She has also played at the Bakersfield Convention Center and the Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall. Although Christina Aguilera and Jenni Rivera are her favorite singers, Esmeralda’s Mexican heritage shines through her love for banda music and corridos.
Originally from Fontana, California, Esmeralda has been living in Bakersfield for eight years. She has two younger siblings whom she feels responsible for: “I feel the need of caring for them and setting a good example, it is my job to get along with them and help them with anything they may need”.
Even though she turned fifteen on January 1st, she has not had the chance to celebrate her quinceañera. Therefore, she considers winning the Quinceanera.com Cover Girl contestand being treated as a princess during her photo shoot session as her quince celebration. This celebration ended this past Sunday at our Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show where Esmeralda was the guest of honor.

“I could not believe I had won!” says Esmeralda who had entered the contest for the first time as she though it would be fun an interesting to try out. She wishes to pursue a modeling career and to participate in other pageant-like contests.
Her academic goals include pursuing a business administration and cosmetology degrees. She hopes to own a beauty salon and have the knowledge to manage it. “I want to study cosmetology, to model and to open a body shop to paint cars.” Meanwhile she is a freshman in high school and claims science is her favorite subject.
Esmeralda says winning Quinceanera.com’s Bakersfield Cover Girl contest is a dream come true: “It is a wonderful experience, follow your dreams and don’t let people tell you otherwise”.
