How to rock high heels like a runway model

We've all seen those models on the runway walking in 5-inch stiletto heels with grace and effortless ease. But if you're a novice in the world of heels, walking in pumps might feel like you're learning to walk again. Don't worry, with all our seasoned expertise, we'll make you strut like a pro in no time.

First things first, choose the shoes. Make sure your shoes fit well, are the right size and width. Ensure they're not too tight, as it will not only be painful for your feet but also for everyone watching. On the other hand, make sure your heels are not too loose, so they don't slip off while walking, making the process more difficult. The soles on the bottom of the pumps can make a big difference in the level of difficulty you'll have while walking. Thin soles make walking more difficult because you have less support, and your foot is forced to be on a steeper slope.

Start with a small, thick heel and gradually work your way up to mastering high, thin heels. Get used to walking in the small heels first, and once you feel comfortable with them, increase the heel height. When you feel comfortable again with these heels, increase the height again, and so on until you master even the highest heel. Remember, practice makes perfect!

Now let's move on to perfecting the runway or simply walking. There are some basic things you might want to keep in mind. First of all, don't walk on tiptoes; it might seem safer to balance all the weight on the larger part of the sole, but this will only make the work harder for your feet. Make sure to first support the heel; trust me, the heel (though it may seem delicate) will hold your weight. If you want to walk with a bit more grace, walk by placing the front of your foot forward with each step you take. As for the length of your steps, it's normal to take shorter steps with heels; in fact, the higher your heel, the shorter your steps should be.

Posture is crucial because the last time we checked standing like a newborn foal wasn't right. Make sure to stand upright, with a straight back, shoulders back and down, with a elongated neck. For a slight hip movement, imagine you're walking on an imaginary straight line. But if you want a dramatic hip movement, do it like the models and cross over the entire line, although you could start with a light movement while becoming an expert in heels.

All you need now is the model attitude. Always walk with confidence, and you'll never miss a step!
