Six semifinalists competing for the grand prize.

The thrilling story of the search for Quinceanera.com Magazine’s next cover girl repeated itself on Saturday, May 19 at the Stonewood Center in Downey, California. The contestants were competing for the grand prize of becoming the magazine’s 2012 Orange County cover girl, and to receive a two-page spread in the magazine’s June issue, be given the choice between a Quinceañera dress or $700, and kick start the fashion show at the Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show Orange County that will he be held on Sunday June 10th at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort.

We received countless subscriptions of girls interested on participating, but only five lucky applicants were chosen as semifinalists. These girls had the opportunity of spending an amazing day doing a photo shoot, filming a video, receiving swag bags, and much more.

The contestants gathered at the VIP area waiting to be introduced by Hilda Gabriela, Host to the Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show series, as well as by Gaby Alvarado, the VIP Lounge Hostess, and Jackie Mejia, our Quinceanera.com Correspondent. The jittery semifinalists were comforted when the Quincenera.com staff gave them a warm welcome. During the first stage of the event the once nervous atmosphere turned into a comfortable zone.

The semifinalists were eased into the event after a photo and video shoot session at two of the Center’s boutiques. Fashion Expo and G by Guess hosted the photo shoot and also gifted the contestants with goodie bags filled with merchandise from the popular retailer’s.

The contestants first took the stage where they were each interviewed by the panel of judges. This proceeded with a runway competition. After this, the judges deliberated on the top 3 candidates that will move on to the final round. Meanwhile, the general public was entertained with raffles, contests, and prizes courtesy of Bath and Body Works, Macy’s, Mrs. Fields Cookies, and gift certificates from the Stonewood Center.

Only three girls were chosen as finalists, however, all the semifinalists took home a valuable experience. Both, the Ontario and San Diego cover girl contests are yet to come. If you wish to participate but are somehow hesitant, let these pictures of the best moments at the Stonewood Center persuade you. Enjoy!

Vote for your favorite Orange County cover girl candidate! Voting ends this Friday.
