Treat your dad like a king on Father’s day

Gabriela Alvarado

Father’s day is right around the corner and you must prepare to give your undivided attention to him on his special day. Even if your dad is the jealous type who won’t let you date, or one of those curfew lovers, or perhaps the one who always looks angry but is secretly loving, keep in mind that the best you can do on his day is to make him feel appreciated.

Nothing beats starting your dad’s day by sharing a delicious breakfast with his family. And who better than you to prepare such yumminess.

  • Huevos rancheros breakfast

Ingredients for salsa ranchera:

* ½ onion
* 1 spoon of vegetable oil
* 1/2 sweet chili
* 2 garlic cloves
* 1/2 chopped jalapeno
* 1 cup of chopped tomatoes
* 1/2 cup of chicken soup
* 1 finely chopped coriander
* 2 sausages cut into slices
* 1 cup of cooked beans

For the eggs:

* 4 corn tortillas
* 1/4 cup of oil
* 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese
* Salt and pepper

Salsa preparation:
Cook the onion, garlic, and chili for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, the chicken soup, the jalapenos, the coriander, and the sausage slices then marinate them with salt and pepper.

Eggs preparation:
Once the salsa is ready, cook the eggs over it and add salt and pepper. Leave them cooking for 2 minutes until they are done. On a pan, heat oil and fry the tortillas. To serve, place a tortilla, then the egg along with the salsa, and add mozzarella cheese on top.

  • Organize his working area or his favorite “hanging” place

If your dad is one of those who won’t leave the living room to watch his soccer match, organize the area so he can spend an enjoyable day filled with sports. If he has a working space makes things easier for him to organize his stuff so he can be able to work more comfortably.

  •  A day of peace

Perhaps with your Quinceanera planning, you have spent a whole year talking about yourself, allowing him to relax on his day obeying everything he asks for with a smile, and treating him like never before.

  • A simple yet epic gift

Make sure to get the best picture of your dad with the entire family and place it on a frame. This is a common gift however it is an effective reminder of how appreciative you are of the family he has built.

  •  A useful gift

If you still cannot find a great gift that fits your budget then play it safe: get him an electric shaver, a nice set of PJs, or a bathrobe. These gifts never fail since they are basic things every dad needs.
