Edison International Awards 30 Students With Scholarships – 11 of Them Being Hispanic

You are currently in high school and are welcoming “adulthood”. This might sound a little dramatic but it is time to start thinking about your after high school plans! It is never too late to plan or have an idea of what you want to do after high school. College is something every high school student should consider, especially in this day and age. Many careers require a college degree.

If you are a girl who enjoys studying STEM in high school, meets the qualifications, and is looking to major in college with one of the eligible STEM majors. Such as computer and information systems, engineering, engineering technology, management information systems, mathematics, natural resources, and conservation, and physical sciences. Be on the lookout to apply for this scholarship!

Every year Edison International awards 30 high school students with a scholarship in the amount of $40,000 to each student. A total of $1.2 million goes to students every year who want to continue their STEM education in college.

Applicant Qualifications 

-Must have at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA

-Plan to pursue studies in STEM fields at a four-year accredited college or university

-Must show financial need

-Applicants must live in Southern California Edison’s service territory

-50 finalists are required to submit a short video

-Dependents of Edison International and SCE employees and retirees are not eligible.

 Students from ethnic minorities and underserved communities are encouraged to apply.

Since 2006, more than $12 million in scholarships have been awarded to 700 high school seniors through the Edison Scholars Program.
