Blow & Glow

I visit this salon for hairstylist Karlin Esmaili only. She is professional, nice and kind. I mostly appreciate her being flexible on scheduling and never makes you wait. Highly recommend.

The saloon is beautiful and spacious. I love lights and it did give all the brightness. My African hair was given princess treatment by Karlin. Please say hello to karlin when you go there. All other representatives were equally sweet.

Parking/location/cleanliness was all great. Customer Service: none. Ambiance: uncomfortable because no one spoke more than a few words of English to me. But seemed like in between glances and stares my way the Armenian women were having great conversation. Product/Actual Wash and Blowout: decent, but seemed like Ani (I think that was her name) wasn’t really wanting to do my hair so she rushed the wash which wet my shirt collar a lot. Thankfully I was headed home to change but this happened because she was rushing it. As I got washed the back door was open and a waft of cigarette smoke entered and I mentioned to Ani, but she didn’t understand me. The blow dry was done very fast. I liked it and she did a good job so I tipped her well. Very mixed feelings about this place. I went there because of the last minute availability and accommodating of my request. I’ll return when I’m desperate. But I won’t be looking for any smiles or chit chat like I’m used to in other blowout salons. Also, not sure why they had the radio playing, when there are so many streaming options without loud commercials. Low rating due to just not being a welcoming and comfortable vibe. Other services they offered looked really good.

Their menu does not reflect the prices. As example on the booking tool, it allows you to get a Mini Me blow-out. When I arrived I was informed that it was outdated and I would be charged the full price for my 5 year old. I had just washed her hair and asked if that would change things. They started without washing and came back and said it would remain adult prices. This is also not ethical. They got upset when I asked that they wash. Second, for my older daughter, who was getting a blowout, the lady started curling and then asked me if I liked it, adding that this would be extra. They charged me a higher rate arguing that they would prefer to be paid for the work done. Had they asked if the curls were needed in the first place, I would have a made a decision not to as opposed to be told that they had done the work and want to charge the higher rate. My personal blow out with Virab was absolutely pleasant, efficient and the outcome was great. This salon's customer service isn't great and the pricing is not transparent. I would highly recommend changed the service proposition if they want repeat customers. While I tipped >>20% I will most certainly NOT be coming back.
