Rancho La Mission

So me and my wife were the winners of the Barn Wedding Giveaway. Which is an amazing thing they’re doing at Rancho La Mission. They gave us $20k towards our dream wedding! They also have just about EVERYTHING covered at the venue. They offer everything from the bartenders, to the DJ, to the wedding planner! Melida is excellent! She knew exactly what needed to be done and how to get it done on the big day. They also provide the food, which was delicious! Everything is included in what you pay all with the venue. They allowed outside vendors as well, which was great. The venue is absolutely beautiful. It was everything me and my wife wanted. Even though it was pretty cold, their indoor venue was well heated. I was constantly told how beautiful the whole wedding was. Raul was always just a phone call away if we had any questions. It was nice knowing we could reach out whenever and speak with someone who wanted to help. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Lastly, I have to say, Raul and Rancho La Mission gave me and my wife to have a wedding that she deserved. A big beautiful wedding. For that, I will be forever thankful.

Disappointing Experience at Rancho La Mission I recently had my wedding at Rancho La Mission, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. The owner’s attitude was consistently rude, and the overall service fell short of our expectations. The overall cost of the venue was exorbitant, and looking back, it feels like a complete rip-off. The venue is beautiful, but we made my wedding what is was because we took matters into our own hands, handling all the arrangements, decorations, and contracting of vendors ourselves to avoid their overpriced services, which we could have done anywhere. We attempted to back out of the contract a mere 15 minutes after signing due to severe regrets about the inflated prices, but the owner callously threatened to report it on our credit, leaving us with no choice but to proceed. One major issue was the discrepancy in pricing. The contract we signed had specific prices, but when it came time to settle the bill, the venue did not adhere to the agreed-upon rates. In addition, if you don’t use the money put into the package, you either have to add on, therefore, spending more. The amount you don’t use will not be returned. We added on to avoid this only to find out we were extremely overcharged for a Photo Booth. This inconsistency left us feeling cheated and misled. On the day of the wedding, the animals were running loose as we were setting up. I stepped on poop right before walking down the aisle and it left my dress stained. Immediately after the wedding we felt hurried off the premises, given 10 minutes to gather and pack our arrangements, and there was a distinct lack of attentiveness to our needs. He also let all his dogs run loose during that time. His staff as well wanting to throw away what was left of our cake just to get us out of there. Very unprofessional! To make matters worse, when we requested the return of our deposit, the owner provided a series of excuses and has yet to fulfill this commitment. It’s disheartening to see a business not honoring its contractual obligations. I would caution anyone considering Rancho La Mission to thoroughly review their contract, be wary of unexpected charges, and carefully consider if the level of service is worth the high price tag. I hope others can learn from my disappointment before choosing this venue for their special day. Make sure to read through ALL his reviews as I am not the first to complain.

Do NOT book this venue, Owner is a coward and a big LIAR, there is a contract of set prices and nothing was honored at that set price everything was more expensive. Employees were limiting us on an OPEN bar when WE were the ones who provided all the alcohol. When it was time to clean up he gave us about 20 minutes before he tried to kick us all out in such a rude way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENUE & THE DEPOSIT WAS NOT RETURNED.

Owner of the venue claims that we lied on our negative review because my husband was the bigger person and shook hands at the end of the event. He can share the video of that. The event was beautiful but the night ended sour after a member of the family was blatantly disrespected; im sure he has that video as well. My family doesn’t want anyone else going through what we have in regard to being overcharged, conned out of money, and being disrespected. They included their own reviews for that reason. That guest wasn’t drunk but when you’re being disrespected after being conned, you’re going to react. We have our emails as proof that we provided everything needed for our deposit. Animals (Cows not Dogs) were used for the engagement photo shoot but all animals were said to be put away for the event. I didn’t ask for my dress to be soiled by animal feces before the event even started. I DON’T give permission for my photos and videos of my wedding being shared for his benefit. WE gave my wedding the WOW factor as previously mentioned by doing our own arrangements and decor. As well as discussing with my photographer what I wanted for that photoshoot and providing my own props. All he did was provide a venue and the animals happened to be roaming that day. I can’t be lying because I’m not the first with the same issues. There are MANY on YELP and other platforms with the same situations. Maybe it’s time for the owner to reflect and stop being a con artist to good people and families making the best of what’s supposed to be an amazing day for them.
