His humble beginnings began as a YouTube music talent

It was a gloomy up-for-no-good morning in June 2010 that Austin Mahone posted his first soon-to-hit-fame YouTube video with his friend Alex Constancio. Music videos flowed in, and by January 2011, he began to build an online following of teen fans. Then,in October 2011, Mahone posted a video covering Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe.” (Some might say that did it.)

With over 55 million views on YouTube, Austin Mahone got signed

On August 28, 2012, Mahone announced that he had been officially signed to Chase/Universal Republic Records. He released his first single “11:11” on June 5, 2012 and his second single “Say Somethin,” soon after.

Mahone was chosen as one of the opening acts for Taylor Swift’s summer Red Tour. Later in November 2012, Mahone signed a deal to become the new “Teen Ambassador” for Lil Wayne’s fashion clothing line, Trunkfit. He has also been in many commercials for brands like McDonald’s, Hot Nuts, and Aquafina.

This is one star who’s music talent has taken him far from merely uploading YouTube videos.

His fame continues to compete with other artists like Bieber

With an MTV VMA win for “Artist to Watch” and MTV EMA win for “Best Push Artist,” and “Artist on the Rise,” Mahone stays hot in the press and on many teen fans’ radars. Not only does he have attention from his fan base, known as “Mahomies,” but he is also gaining great media attention.

Interviewed and followed by Details Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Wall Street Journal, Live! With Kelly & Michael, Today Show, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, E! News, Extra, The Insider, VH1, and MTV, Austine Mahone is hard to miss in this market!
