Shakira was deeply involved in the development of the S by Shakira fragrance, working alongside expert perfumers to find a fragrance that captured her authentic and unique essence. During the creation of her fragrance, Shakira explored her passion for perfumery by expressing her preference for notes like strawberries with chocolate, baby skin, balsamic resins, or the sweetness of honey. "In many ways, creating a fragrance is like composing a song: you need a blend of inspiration and perseverance to do it well. Like in a song, a perfume is composed of distinct, individual notes that come together to form harmony." She found that magical moment when smelling the blend of natural jasmine, sandalwood, and vanilla, which set the creative direction for the project.
