10 Tips for Planning a Quinceañera

When it comes to tips for planning a Quinceañera, the more information you gather long before your party, the better.

Quinceañeras worldwide seek information from various places, mostly through the internet or event planning services, which handle everything and avoid a lot of stress for the celebrant. Consumer surveys are another very effective way to learn how to plan a Quinceañera. For those who are planning such an event for the first time, these surveys are very helpful as they provide information about people who have had this experience.

Recently, David's Bridal conducted its own survey. Although the survey was aimed at brides and wedding planning, the results also apply to planning a Quinceañera.

For example, David's Bridal's "What's on Brides' Minds" survey concludes that websites where people exchange ideas for planning a party are generally very effective. This includes social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Creativity and inspiration blogs were some of the most popular ideas, as well as DIY projects, decorating ideas, recipes, and more.

David's Bridal's survey also concludes that people exchange ideas on how to create to-do lists, how to manage the budget, and how to prioritize, assign, and organize every detail of your party.

The survey results also include the following tips for planning a Quinceañera:

1. If you don't have an event coordinator, ask a friend who is not in your court of honor to help you plan and organize.

2. Be realistic. Calculate your budget and stick to it. It's easy to get carried away with extravagant Quinceañeras, but remember that the party is your special day to share with friends and family.

3. Choose a theme or motif to consolidate the idea for your Quinceañera party. This will make planning a Quinceañera much easier.

4. If you have a specific color in mind, research which flowers are available during the season of your party. Seasonal flowers are more economical.

5. Get references and read reviews of companies you plan to hire before signing any contracts.

6. If you plan to invite older people to your party, make sure there are enough seats.

7. If you have a large number of guests under 10 years old, hire a babysitter to take care of them during the ceremony. You can also assign a table for the kids in the hall with crayons, coloring books, games, and toys.

8. Remember that some people have dietary restrictions such as allergies. If possible, make sure the menu includes something everyone can eat.

9. Group people with similar interests and of the same age at the same table. Make sure each table has an even number of people, as guests tend to chat in pairs. You wouldn't want to leave someone out.

10. Thank-you notes are as important as invitations. The day after your Quinceañera is the perfect time to write them, as your memory is still fresh.
