Let Bruno Mars Be Part of Your Quince

Bruno Mars, Quinceanera man in a suit and sunglasses posing for a pictureIt is no surprise Bruno Mars’ “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” album keeps giving the artist new accolades. The first single “Just the Way You Are” turned him in an International pop star, and he grabbed 2 Grammy Awards. In 2011 the top-selling album brings him 5 new nominations: Record of the year (“GRENADE”), Album of the year (“DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS”), Song of the Year (“GRENADE”), Best Pop Solo Performance (“GRENADE”), Best Pop Vocal Album (“DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS”).  The 54th edition of this award ceremony will take place on February 12th in Los Angeles.
Choose a song from the album of one of the most influential Latinos (Bruno Mars’ real name is Peter Gene Hernandez) as inspiration for your Quince dance. Growing up in a family full of musicians, Bruno soon realized he had the talent to write songs that were not only special but captivated the audience due to the relatable feelings and situations he talked about.

An ideal song for making an entrance at your Quince is “Just the Way You Are”, because it is about a woman’s qualities and her own acceptance. Another song you can dance with your court can be “Count On Me”, keep in mind the album has a variety of songs for everyone’s musical taste. As Bruno says, “the doo-wops are for the ladies and the hooligans for the guys”.

Mars’ music is noted for displaying a wide variety of styles and influences, and contains elements of many different musical genres. He blends his buoyant voice with purposefully simple production. All the songs are produced and written with his Smeezingtons partner Philip Lawrence.
